Baltic Tracks & Birds:
Winter Wildlife Trail
Easy
7.5km
4-5 Hrs
October - March
Perhaps you're visiting for the Christmas market or just on a winter city-break... Come explore the calm, wintry landscapes of Sobieszewo Island and experience the Baltic coast in this unique season. This guided winter adventure focuses on spotting and identifying animal tracks and signs—moose, fox, deer, and other winter residents, while also observing hardy coastal and forest birds that thrive in the cold. Your local guide will help interpret the traces left behind in the snow and highlight the fascinating ways wildlife adapts to the season. A warming thermos of hot chocolate or spiced winter tea is available to keep spirits high as we explore.
(Please note: in cases of continuous heavy rain, heavy snow or storm winds, the tour does not operate for safety reasons.)
Tour Details:

We take a walk through Ptasi Raj Nature Reserve, following scenic woodland trails and coastal paths across mostly flat terrain. Covering roughly 7.5 km, the walk usually takes between 4 and 5 hours, depending on our pace, and how many snack breaks we take along the way! Two bird hides along the route offer excellent viewpoints but do require climbing a few steps. In winter, the ground can be icy or muddy in places, so sturdy shoes with good grip are a must. The good news — no mosquitoes at this time of year! Tours run in light rain or snow, so please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather. Many guests like to finish the day at the nearby tavern (with a fireplace) for a traditional, home-cooked meal, the perfect way to warm up after being outside in nature!
