Hello!
We’re the family behind Ladybird Tours.
We moved to Poland from the UK nearly ten years ago, Natalia returning to her Polish roots, and Ryan (a true Brit) falling in love with Gdańsk on a visit and deciding to stay. Four years ago we discovered Sobieszewo Island, and three years ago we were lucky enough to make it home.
Since then, life has been shaped by forests, beaches and wetlands… and by the wildlife that regularly wanders through our garden, including deer, moose and more birdlife than we can keep track of. Add two children, two dogs and a lot of time spent outdoors, and Ladybird Tours grew quite naturally out of everyday life on the island.
What we do is a mix of guiding, creating, learning and giving back. We’re both volunteers with the WWF Blue Patrol, actively involved in protecting coastal wildlife, and we love sharing the nature we live alongside while helping to look after it.
Meet Ryan
Chief Birdwatcher, Nature Guide & Dad
Ryan leads our birdwatching and nature tours around Sobieszewo Island and other nearby reserves. When he’s not guiding or out exploring with the family, he’s often stargazing or sketching … or serving as a firefighter with the OSP Sobieszewo.

and Natalia
Crafty Creative, Business Mentor & Mama
Natalia looks after the admin, design and planning behind
Ladybird Tours, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Alongside her work as a business mentor & graphic designer, she shares DIY nature activities on the blog and is develops creative nature workshops for children.
Conservation partners
We’re proud to work alongside organisations that actively protect birds and coastal wildlife in Poland and beyond. We’re partners of OTOP BirdLife Poland, the country’s leading bird conservation charity, regularly taking part in bird counts and hosting free bird walks for the public. You can also support their work by buying one of their bird pins on our tours – profits go directly to OTOP.
We’re both members of the WWF Blue Patrol, which means hands-on conservation work helping birds and seals along the Baltic coast, as well as education in schools and at public events. We also support the RSPB, the UK-based bird conservation charity with work across Europe, and have their bird pins available for sale too.
Being part of these organisations isn’t just a badge for us – it reflects how we live. We believe in learning, getting our hands dirty, and giving back to the wildlife that shapes our everyday life. Nature has truly become our way of life, and we’d love to share it with you.
